Tuesday, 25 January 2022 | PNS | Dehradun

The Congress party has said that it has done the necessary homework for the pre poll promises and claimed that these pro poor measures would not be a burden on the economy. The national spokesperson of Congress party Gaurav Vallabh said that a subsidy of Rs 418 per cylinder would cost the exchequer about Rs 700 crore per year which is about 1.1 per cent of its annual budget. Similarly the provision of Rs 40,000 per year to five lakh families would cost about Rs 2,000 crore.

Vallabh added that the employment would be generated by providing impetus to labour intensive small and medium scale industries. Former CM Harish Rawat said that a separate chapter would be provided in the election manifesto of Congress party in which the measures to boost the economy and income of the state would be mentioned.
