Friday, 22 June 2018 | PNS | Dehradun– Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) conducted a video conference with the education secretary of the State on Thursday and instructed him on the guidelines to be sent to the heads of the educational institutions on how the teachers can apply themselves for the national awards to be bestowed on the teachers for their exemplary work. It is learnt that the objective of the videoconference was to direct guidelines to the authorities for the selection of teachers for the National Award 2018. Authorities also answered different queries of the officers concerned regarding the nitty gritty of the selection process of the teachers. The guidelines given by the Ministry of Human Resources Development stated that all the teachers of the Government schools can apply for their entry directly by registering on the online website – www.mhrd.gov.in. The last date for the registration is June30. After the registration is complete, the district level committees would evaluate the entries and would thereafter forward them to the State level committee by July 15 online. Further evaluation by the appointed State level committee would be done till July 31. However the contractual teachers, District Institute of Education and Training Dehradun (DIET) and State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) members cannot apply for the award. Besides, the teachers who retire before September 30 2018 would not apply. It is learnt that three teachers from Uttarakhand will be selected for the award. The selected teachers after the evaluation from the State level committee have to submit the prescribed documents by the end of July. Instructions have also been given to the effect that the teachers applying for the award should also upload a video on the portal online, showing their work along with their portfolio and form. The State level committee would forward vigilance certificate letter to the teachers selected by the district level committees. Authorities also gave directions to the senior officers, including the divisional directors of Primary Education, Secondary Education Garhwal and Kumaon Group, to encourage the teachers to apply.
