Uttarkashi police launched a special verification drive across the district to monitor suspicious individuals. Under the direction of Uttarkashi superintendent of police Sarita Dobal, completed verification forms for 99 individuals, including tenants, labourers, street vendors and hawkers, had been sent for investigation.
During the campaign, police have taken action against five landlords who had not got their tenants verified. The landlords have been warned against renting sans
verification.
During the campaign, the police made the people aware of the importance of verification. “This is not just a legal imperative but also crucial for the safety of homeowners and local residents,” said the SP, adding that verification helps identify individuals with potential criminal tendencies and enables timely action.
