Vaccination drive against Covid 19

State now has just 388 active patients of Covid-19

The state health department has so far vaccinated 155798 health care and front line workers with the Covishield vaccine in Uttarakhand. The vaccination drive in the state started on January 16. On Wednesday, 3503 people were vaccinated in 85 vaccine sessions held in different parts of the state. The chief operating officer (COO) of the Uttarakhand State Control Room, Abhishek Vajpayee said that 12706 health care workers in the state have received the second dose of the vaccine in the state. A total of 91662 health workers and 64136 frontline workers have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.

 Meanwhile 47 new patients of the Covid-19 were reported from different parts of the state by the health department on Wednesday. The state now has 96820 patients of the disease. No patient of the disease was reported dead on Wednesday. The authorities discharged 80 patients from different hospitals on the day following their recovery from the disease. A total of 93348 patients have recovered so far from the disease in the state and the recovery percentage stands at 96.41. 

The health department reported 26 new patients of the disease from Dehradun, nine from Nainital, eight from Udham Singh Nagar, two from Haridwar and one each from Almora and Chamoli.  Bageshwar, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Uttarkashi reported no new cases of the disease on the day. 

The state now has 388 active patients of Covid-19. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 107 patients. Dehradun and Nainital are in second position with 66 active patients each.
