UVSP to start written examination from February 21

The Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) will begin the written board examinations for classes X and XII from February 21 to March 20, 2026, secretary Vinod Simalti said.

Simalti informed that a meeting of the examination committee took place on Tuesday at the UVSP office in Ramnagar (Nainital), chaired by the chairman, to finalise the schedule for the class X and XII examinations for 2026. The committee reached a consensus that the written examination for both levels will run from February 21 to March 20, 2026. He also said that the practical examinations for the said classes will be held from January 16 to February 15, 2026. He said that all necessary preparations for the smooth conduct of the examinations have been completed. It is essential to note that Simalti previously stated that there will be a total of 2,15,602 candidates participating in the 2026 board examination. This number comprises 1,12,688 candidates of class X and 1,02,914 candidates of class XII. These individuals will be accommodated across 1,261 examination centres, which include 50 single centres and 1,211 mixed centres. Additionally, Simalti informed that Tehri district has the highest number of examination centres, with a total of 136, while Champawat district has the fewest, with only 44 centres.

It will be recalled that in the past Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat directed the UVSP board officials to ensure that the results of class X and XII should be declared by April 30.
