The Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) has initiated preparations for the 2026 board examinations for classes X and XII. The UVSP secretary Vinod Simalti informed that as the examination approaches for these classes, the organisation is taking steps to ensure the successful execution of the exams in 2026. He said the data collection for students registered for the board examinations is currently ongoing. Further, he stated that the UVSP has instructed the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) in each district of the State to identify suitable centres for conducting the examinations.

He stated that the CEOs will first identify the centres at the district level. Once these centres are selected, they will inform the UVSP and the section will be done at the state-level to finalise the centres. The selection and data collection process for these centres are expected to be completed by the end of this month, after which a data sheet will be prepared and released. He also added that this year, they have planned to make the question paper pattern more competitive to enhance students’ critical thinking and analytical skills. Further, to improve student outcomes, model papers have been uploaded on the official UVSP website, allowing students to practice and aim for high marks in the upcoming examination, Simalti said.

It will be recalled that on April 19, UVSP released the results for the class X and class XII board examinations 2025. This year in class X, 90.77 per cent of students passed, with a passing rate of 88.20 per cent for boys and 93.25 per cent for girls. In class XII, 83.23 per cent of students successfully cleared the exam, with boys achieving a passing percentage of 80.10 per cent and girls 86.20 per cent.
