Uttarakhand weather update today

Uttarakhand weather has been issued regarding the likelihood of dense to very dense fog in the plains along with cold day to severe cold wave conditions in some parts of the plains on Thursday. Further, light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in five districts today.

The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of dense to very dense fog likely to occur in some parts of the plains especially in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Thursday.  Cold-day to severe cold-day conditions are likely to occur at a few places in the plains especially in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts today. In addition to this, light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Dehradun districts and very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places in remaining districts of Uttarakhand. Snowfall is likely to occur in places situated at altitudes of 3,000 metres and above.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 20 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Thursday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Wednesday were 22.2 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 11.8 degrees Celsius and 4.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.3 degrees Celsius and 3.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16 degrees Celsius and 3.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
