Uttarakhand transport and social welfare minister Chandan Ram Dass passed away after a protracted illness. The 65-year-old leader was rushed to the Bageshwar district hospital as his health suddenly deteriorated. The Uttarakhand government has announced a three-day state mourning. Besides, the Uttarakhand government has decided to close all offices of the state government for a day to mourn the death of the leader. Expressing grief over the minister’s sudden demise, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he was stunned by the news of his cabinet colleague’s death. He added that it was an irreparable loss to the realms of politics and social service.
