Uttarakhand Minority Education Law a step toward quality education: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
The Bharatiya Janata Party stated that the new Uttarakhand Minority Education Law introduced by the State government will improve the quality of education and ensure access to quality education for all communities. Congress is opposing the law only for political reasons just to appease certain communities, the party’s BJP’s State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said.
He accused Congress of restricting the educational progress of minority communities for political gains. He said that Congress questions the new provisions while keeping the old law unchanged, showing its resistance is aimed at appeasing specific communities. He added that minority schools under the new law will have qualified teachers and technical facilities, which were not available in madarsas and that separate permissions will be required for religious education. These schools will provide vocational and quality education similar to other schools.
Chauhan said that the BJP is following the principle of inclusive development and enabling all schools with technical capabilities. He urged the opposition to focus on creating awareness within the minority community rather than criticising the law, stating that the community will recognise the purpose of the BJP’s measures.
