Uttarakhand firefighters win nine medals at World Police and Fire Games 2025

In their first participation at the World Police and Fire Games 2025, firefighters from Uttarakhand secured nine medals, advancing India’s position in the medal tally. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also congratulated the team and said their performance demonstrated commitment and discipline.

The achievement has brought recognition to India and marked a significant moment for Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Services. Held in Birmingham, USA, the global event saw participation from over 8,500 athletes representing more than 70 countries.

Four personnel from the Uttarakhand Fire Service represented India, including one male and three female firefighters. The Fire service driver Dinesh Chandra Bhatt earned a silver in the Ultimate Firefighter event and a bronze in the Fire Fighting Challenge.

Firefighters Dimple, Madhuri Bhandari and Pinky Rawat won a bronze in the Ultimate Firefighter (women’s team) category and a silver in the Stair Run (full gear, women’s team) category. Pinky Rawat also secured a bronze in the individual Stair Run (full gear) category. Dimple Rawat won six medals across individual and mixed team categories, including two golds in the Stair Run events, a silver and three bronzes.
