Uttarakhand awarded for robust startup ecosystem

The union ministry of Commerce and Industry has presented a certificate of appreciation to the department of Industries on the occasion of national Startup Day on Saturday. The certificate was awarded for Uttarakhand for being recognised as a ‘Leader’ for developing a robust start-up ecosystem in the ‘ Startup Ecosystem Ranking (5th Edition) released by the department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The officials of department of Industries of the State point out that this honour makes it clear that Uttarakhand has succeeded in linking innovation, entrepreneurship, investment promotion and youth to self-employment through its startup policy, which is now being appreciated at the national level and State’s achievement is also being viewed as a model on a national scale.
Expressing happiness, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “this honour is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. Our government has developed favourable policies, simple processes and a strong ecosystem to promote startups. The youth of the state have an incredible potential for innovation, and the government is providing them support at every level. This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of all entrepreneurs, startups and officials of the State.’’
