Uttarakhand administration gears up for International Pravasi conclave

The State government has started making preparations for the upcoming International Pravasi Uttarakhandi conclave. The conclave is scheduled to be held in Dehradun on January 12, 2025. The theme of the conclave is ‘ role of nonresident Uttarakhandis in making a Sashakt Uttarakhand’.
The chief secretary Radha Raturi chaired a meeting at the State secretariat on Friday in which she reviewed the preparations for the conclave. In the meeting, she handed over the responsibility of different sessions of the conclaves to secretaries and directed them to prepare the work plan within a week.
Raturi said that in depth discussions on investment opportunities on sectors such as manufacturing, power generation, start-ups and others should be made during the different sessions in the conclave. She said that special focus and deliberations should be on tourism, agriculture, horticulture, rural development, higher education, skill development, healthcare, Ayush and Yoga should be made during the conclave. The CS asked the officers concerned to ensure that subject specialists and nonresident natives of the State are included in the list of speakers in different sessions of conclave.
She said that the best exhibition of culture, local handicrafts, products and food should be made during the conclave. The CS said that the secretaries of the department concerned should be made nodal officers for every session in the conclave. She directed the district magistrate (DM) and senior superintendent (SSP) of Police of Dehradun to make necessary preparations for sanitation of the venue of the conclave, parking arrangements, traffic, transport and protocol for the conclave. The CS added that arrangement of liaison officers should be made for the nonresident guests visiting the State to attend the conclave.
The meeting was attended by additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Sachin Kurve and Vinod Kumar Suman and other officers attended the meeting.
