The School of Computer Science (SoCS) at UPES launched the Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence which it called a transformative initiative aimed at advancing interdisciplinary research, education and innovation in AI and Machine Learning. Among those present at the inauguration ceremony was the chief data scientist, Centre of Excellence in AI/ML, Reliance Jio, Shailesh Kumar.
In his keynote address, Kumar said that as a horizontal technology, AI would enhance the efficiency of every human system and boost the productivity of every human endeavour. “Centre of Excellence for AI, launched at UPES, will drive future innovations that transform both industry and society,” he said.
Among others who addressed the programme were the director, Centre for Artificial Intelligence,Lalit Sachan anddean of the School of Computer Science at UPES, Vijayshekhar Chellaboina. UPES sources said that they have made an investment commitment of ₹50 crore in state-of-the-art infrastructure and facility development.
