UPCL gears up for uninterrupted power supply during monsoon

Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has reiterated its commitment ahead of the onset of the monsoon session that it has made all preparations to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the State during the rainy season.  With this objective kept in view, all the regional officers have been asked to ensure that adequate advanced preparations are made so as to facilitate uninterrupted power supply even in possible situations like rain, waterlogging, falling of trees and disaster.

The managing director of UPCL, Anil Kumar Yadav has issued instructions to the officers concerned to see to it that all sub-stations, HT and LT lines should be monitored daily and arrangements for emergency materials such as conductors, cables, poles and transformers are ensured to restore power at the earliest in the event of power supply disruption.  All the superintending engineers and executive engineers have also been directed by the MD to inspect the 33/11 KV sub-stations and 11 KV feeders coming out of them under their respective areas and to be present in high alert mode.

Apart from this, for better power supply, instructions have been given to get the lopping-chopping of trees and branches coming in the way of the lines done on time and to ensure that all trolley converters are in working condition and are available for any contingency. 

UPCL further claimed that the power supply in the State from June 10 to 15 had been completely regular and stable. During this period, the average daily power demand has been between 52 to 62 million units and the availability of electricity has been 100 percent every day.
