UPCL geared up to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Panchayat polls: MD

The managing director of the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) Anil Kumar Yadav has said that the corporation will ensure uninterrupted supply of power during the three-tier Panchayat elections in the State.
He said that all districts, divisions, sections and distribution offices have been directed to ensure smooth supply of power during the elections. The MD has also directed all the regional officers to remain in a state of high alert so that any power disruption is corrected in time.
He has asked all superintending engineers, executive engineers, assistant engineers and junior engineers to always remain available on phone, mobile and email. The MD has also directed all the customer care centres to remain active 24×7 so that the grievances of consumers on toll free number (1912) are disposed of without any delay.
The MD has asked the regional officers of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Champawat, upper Kumaon and border villages of Garhwal to maintain special vigil since heavy rain, landslides and bad weather affects power supply situation in these areas.
