Under spell of heat, U’khand to receive rain after May 11

After continous rise in temperatures across the state from last some days relief is expected after May 11. The weathermen have predicted that the temperature is likely to fall three to four notches after May 11. The State Meteorological Centre director Bikram Singh has stated that scattered rainfall is likely to happen in various parts of the state from Saturday. Informing further he said, “The weather is to remain the same for the next two-three days. We have seen some rainfall activities after May 11. A majority of places in the state are going to receive scattered rainfall or thunderstorm development. There is a possibility that after May 14 light rainfall may occur in the majority of places of the state. The temperature during this time may also touch normal or remain below normal. The temperature in the city and the state may go down after May 11.” However dry weather is likely to prevail in the state on Thursday. . The maximum and minimum temperature recorded at various places of the state on Wednesday was 38.4 degree Celsius and 20.8 degree Celsius in Dehradun, 39.9 degree Celsius and 17.4 degree Celsius in Pantnagar, 27.6 degree Celsius and 13.7 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 28.6 degree Celsius and 16.4 degree Celsius in New Tehri respectively.

Char Dhams can experience light snowfall on May 16, 17

As per the State Meteorological Centre the Char Dham are likely to experience light snowfall on May 16, 17. State Met Centre director Bikram Singh said, “Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamnotri, Gangotri are likely to experience light snowfall near May16,17 due to the western disturbance. There is no severe weather condition which may trouble pilgrims. However,  we suggest people travelling to be careful.” Thursday, 09 May 2019 | PNS | Dehradun
