U’khand’s film policies lauded at IFFI in Goa
Speaking at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Thursday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) and Director General of Information and Public Relations, Meharban Singh Bisht, said that under Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the State Government is making consistent efforts to encourage film industry in the State. Speaking at the special session on Uttarakhand at the Film Bazaar, he said that the policies, regarding the same, are also being developed in the State. Recently, a film conclave was also conducted in Mussoorie in which many known directors, producers and artists participated.
Singer and actor in Bollywood, Roop Durgapal, said that those directors, producers and artists who hail from Uttarakhand are also trying to improve the chances of the State becoming a film hub. She also said that more celebrities from Uttarakhand who are working at national and international levels should come together and combine their forces in this regard.
Film actress, Chitranshi Rawat, said that it is essential that the picturesque locations of Uttarakhand be promoted. She also said that more and more Bollywood directors need to explore the beauty of the State.
Chief Minister’s industrial adviser, KS Panwar, said that State Government is developing infrastructure to encourage film industry in Uttarakhand. He also said that Government is also helping people from the film industry in their film shooting.
Film and television producer Kulmit Makkad said that there is a special atmosphere for films in Uttarakhand.
The CM Trivendra Singh Rawat is also very welcoming towards people from film fraternity. The state has also attracted a lot of people with their film policies.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar said that State Governments should give full support for the film shootings and should ensure that the movie makers can explore every location there is. The UFDC additional CEO Anil Chandola and nodal officer KS Chauhan were also present in the session.
