In an important decision, the education department of Uttarakhand has decided to provisionally admit all the students of class X who had appeared in the Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) in the class XI. The process of the provisional admissions in the class XI would start on May 5. This decision aimed at utilising the time of the students and increasing enrolments in the government schools has been taken on the order of Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat. The minister had directed the department to take measures for making the best use of the time of the class X students. The class X examination of UVSP had ended on April 19 and the result would be declared in June.  Rawat had opined that the gap between the examination and declaration of result can be utilised by giving provisional admission to the students in class XI.

In an order directed to the additional director Kumaon and Garhwal and all the chief education officers (CEO), the education director (Secondary) R K Kunwar said that all the students who had appeared in class X examination should be given provisional admission in class XI. The admission of all the students who would clear the board examination would be regularised. The parents of all the students given provisional admission would have to submit an underwriting to the Principal that the admission of their ward would get automatically cancelled when he/ she fails in the class X board examinations.

In his order Kunwar said that the students who want to take admission in higher class in another school would be given provisional admission. The admission of these students would be made regular once they produce the mark sheet of class X examination and Transfer Certificate (TC) of the previous school.
