U’khand to organise State-level IDY programme in summer capital

The Uttarakhand government will organise its official State level programme on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga on June 21 at Bharadisain in the summer capital Gairsain in Chamoli district. To be held at the premises of the Vidhan Sabha located at an altitude of 7,800 feet above sea level, the programme will be attended by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the ambassadors of 10 countries.
The director, Ayurveda and Unani services, Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that the International Day of Yoga will be organised on a grand scale this year and the State-level programme will be held at the Vidhan Sabha compound in Bharadisain. He said that the programme will be attended by ambassadors of 10 countries and other dignitaries. Jogdande said that all the guests will reach Bharadisain on June 20. He claimed that more than 1,000 people will perform Yoga on the day.
Dhami said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the initiative of organising the IDY on June 21. In this regard the Uttarakhand government has decided to organise the State -level programme at Bharadisain on the 11th IDY. He said that India has given the mantra of health and happiness to the world in the form of Yoga.
