The Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) will organise the State’s first Science and Technology Premier League–2025, focusing on science, technology, disaster management and climate change. This initiative is aimed at spreading scientific thinking, innovation, problem-solving skills and climate resilience to every village.
Aligned with the State government’s vision, the initiative seeks to ensure that every citizen, especially youths, students and those living in remote regions understands disaster preparedness, climate change, and global scientific advancements. The event intends to bridge science with society and nurture the next generation of scientists and ‘climate ambassadors’.
Teams selected from all 13 districts of Uttarakhand will participate in the State-level competitions, scheduled to be held in Dehradun. The event will be organised alongside the 20th Uttarakhand State Science and Technology Congress 2025, taking place during November on 28–30 in Dehradun.
The UCOST director general Durgesh Pant described the initiative as transformative for Uttarakhand. He said, “Inspired by the vision of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this premier league is not just a competition but a State-wide scientific movement. Our goal is to take science, disaster preparedness, and climate awareness to every village. This platform will empower the youth to become future ‘science ambassadors’ and ‘climate resilience leaders’,” he said.
