U’khand to give 50 k compensation on Covid death

Govt directs DMs to provide compensation from SDRF

The Uttarakhand government has directed all the district magistrates to provide a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the family of those who have died from Covid-19. The compensation would be given from the state disaster relief fund (SDRF). The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said on Wednesday that the deceased should be a native of the state. He said that the DMs have been asked to complete all the formalities and distribute the compensation. Rawat said that the compensation would be provided to the legal heir of the persons who had died from Covid-19. The family members of the deceased should apply in the office of Tehsildar or the DM concerned for the compensation and the death certificate should be given by officials of the health department. The minister said that the compensation amount would be transferred within 30 days of receipt of application
