U’khand to bring stringent anti copying law

The proposed act would have the provision of the life imprisonment & confiscation of property of those involved in the paper leak cases

Stung by the latest paper leak case in which the question paper of the Patwari examination conducted by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UkPSC) was leaked, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government has vowed to bring in a very stringent law to prevent reoccurrence of such acts. In the meeting of the State cabinet held at the State secretariat on Friday a decision to bring in an anti copying act was taken. The draft of the act would be prepared within a time frame of two weeks and brought before the State cabinet. Informing about the decision the Chief Secretary (CS) SS Sandhu said that the cabinet decided that the anti copying act of Uttarakhand would be the most stringent in the country. The act would have the provision of the life imprisonment and confiscation of the entire property of those involved in the paper leak and examination related malpractices. He said that the cabinet decided that no fee would be taken from the candidates for the re examination and the aspirants would be allowed free travel in the buses of Uttarakhand roadways for giving the re examination which is scheduled on February 12.

Reacting to the latest paper leak case, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the active mafia engaged in these incidents is hurting the future of the unemployed youths who study day and night for these examinations. He said that the intelligence units of Police would be activated before all the examinations conducted by the UkPSC and Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSC) in future. The CM claimed that the government is ensuring that all the examinations in future are transparent and free from malpractices.
