U’khand reports only 11 Covid-19 cases on Friday

Uttarakhand seems to be heading towards the end of contagion of Covid-19 as only 11 new cases of the disease were reported by the state health department on Friday. This is the lowest single day caseload in the year 2021 so far. In fact as many as seven districts of the state reported no new case of the disease on the day which is an encouraging sign. The sample positivity rate on Friday was only 0.04 per cent. No patient was reported dead from the disease while the authorities reported 58 recoveries from the disease in the state on the day.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,41,640 while a total of 3,27,664 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7359 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.91 and the sample positivity rate on Friday. The authorities collected 26,889 samples in different parts of the state on Friday.

The state health department reported four new patients from Nainital and two each from Chamoli and Uttarkashi.  One patient each was reported from Dehradun, Haridwar and Uttarkashi districts.

 The state now has 606 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 257 patients while Haridwar in the second position with 69 active cases.  Nainital has 49, Pithoragarh 48, Udham Singh Nagar 43, Chamoli 35, Champawat 33, Rudraprayag 21, Uttarkashi 16, Pauri 12, Tehri 10, Almora eight and Bageshwar five active cases of the disease.

The state reported only one new case of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and no death from the disease on Friday. A total of 549 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 121 have died. The ongoing vaccination drive 47,795 people were vaccinated in 570 sessions held on the day.
