U’khand has made considerable progress towards Atmanirbhar Bharat: CM
Uttarakhand has made considerable progress when it comes to the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat with projects amounting to about Rs 300 crore having been started. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said this while interacting with the media after attending the video conference of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the chief ministers on Tuesday.
The conference chaired by PM Modi was focused on discussions on the situation following Covid-19 and Unlock-1. Steps taken towards a self reliant India were also discussed in the meeting.
Interacting with the media after the video conference, Rawat said, “Uttarakhand has made considerable progress in this direction with projects amounting to about Rs 300 crore having been started. Presently about 90 per cent of the industries have resumed operation in the state. Despite the difficult conditions, work has been done to boost economic activities in the state.The Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana has been started to facilitate self employment for the youth and natives who have returned to the state. A sum of Rs 110 crore was approved to the district magistrates on Monday to ensure that maximum number of youth derive the benefit of this scheme,” said the CM.
He further said that more than 23,000 new registrations have been made under MNREGA. Out of these, work has been provided to more than 17,000 people. A total of about 3.64 lakh labourers are under MNREGA in the state. Further, more than 5,000 applications have been received for agriculture and related works. The State government is also preparing a plan to revive tourism in the state, he added.
