U’khand Govt integrates sports infrastructure in four cities, renames facilities

The State government has integrated the sports infrastructure in four cities and given them new names, the Sports minister Rekha Arya said. She shared that the entire sports infrastructure in Raipur and Dehradun will now be referred to as the Rajat Jayanti Sports Complex. This complex will include the Maharana Pratap Sports College, Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and all other sports facilities in Raipur and Dehradun.
Similarly, the Indira Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hockey Ground, Swimming Pool, Multipurpose Hall, and all other sports infrastructure in Gaulapar, Haldwani, will now be known as the Manaskhand Sports Complex. Additionally, the Manoj Sarkar Stadium, Cycling Velodrome and other sports facilities in Rudrapur have been combined and renamed the Shivalik Sports Complex. In the same vein, the Vandana Kataria Hockey Stadium located in Roshnabad, Haridwar, along with the multipurpose hall, swimming pool, and all other sports facilities, will be integrated and referred to as the Yogasthal Sports Complex.
Arya further added that under the new Sports Legacy Plan, the government is preparing to introduce many new facilities in these sports complexes and national and international-level coaches will also be appointed. The integration of these sports complexes is part of this initiative. She said that the best coaching and support staff structure has been developed by studying the sports infrastructure of various states across the country, with assistance from institutions like SAI.
