Uttarakhand has got 100 additional government seats of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The decision came after the NMC gave a nod to Almora Medical College by releasing a Letter of Intent (LOI) for it. The Letter of Permission (LOP) is yet to be issued. The construction of the college had been going on for years and the students had also been demanding its recognition. Recently, the NMC had also come to inspect it.
