HC order on Char Dham vindication of Congress’s struggle for starting the Yatra- Ganesh Godiyal

Coming full steam into the election mode, the Uttarakhand Congress has decided to enrol 10 lakh new members in the party. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal started the membership drive from the Rajiv Bhawan here on Thursday. Talking to the media persons the PCC president Godiyal said that the party would review the progress of the campaign in the last week of October.

Taking a dig at the BJP, the PCC president said that the Congress would not make members by a miss call but would get the registration form filled after collecting the fee of Rs five. He claimed that a large number of people from all sections of the society are eager to join the Congress party. Expressing his pleasure at the decision of the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) to start the Char Dham Yatra, Godiyal said that the struggle of the Congress party to start the Yatra has been fulfilled.

On being asked to comment on the deliberations of the BJP and arrival of the In-charge and co-in-charges of the party, Godiyal said that the BJP government has done nothing in the last four and half years. He said that BJP would not have to undertake deliberations ahead of elections if it had addressed the issue of unemployment and rising prices properly during its rule. Godiyal claimed that the people of the state have made up their mind to oust the BJP out of power in Uttarakhand. Godiyal said that the recent war of words between the cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat and former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has exposed the BJP.
