U’khand board to prepare criteria for awarding marks

Cancelled Class XII exams

A few days after the state government announced cancellation of class XII board examination of the Uttarakhand Vidhyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP), the state administration issued the formal  order for cancelling the examinations on Friday.

In the order directed to the Director General (DG) education, director education, all district magistrates and secretary UVSP, the secretary school education, R Meenakshi Sundaram said that the UVSP would prepare an objective criteria based on which the result of class XII would be declared. He said that the students who are not satisfied with the marks awarded by the board would have an option to sit in the examination which could be held by the board after the situation normalises. It is worth mentioning here that the education minister Arvind Pandey while announcing cancellation of the board examination had said that no student would be marked a failure in  the class XII board examination this year.

The class X and XII examinations of UVSP were scheduled to start from May 4 but in view of the second wave of pandemic the class X examinations were cancelled and class XII were deferred. The class XII examination too have been cancelled now.

 A total 123485 students were enrolled for Class XII examination of Uttarakhand board.
