U’khand assembly would be made e -Vidhan Sabha- Kau

The chairperson of the Information Technology of the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Umesh Sharma Kau has said that efforts are being made to make the assembly as e- Vidhan Sabha. Interacting with the media persons here on Tuesday he said that the arrangement of the e- questions would start in the Vidhan Sabha soon after which the members would send their questions exclusively in a digital manner.

Kau said that the facility of free Wi-Fi in the assembly building in Dehradun. He added that efforts are also being made to increase digital literacy in the State. Kau said that the committee is mandated to for review of the implementation of the IT policy 2016-17 and extension of the IT education in the State.

The committee also oversees the implementation of IT in different departments of the State and keeps an eye on the employment generation in the sector of IT and increase in revenue collection in the State through the IT sector.  He said that cyber security is rapidly evolving and an important subject for society. Kau said that in the last seven years, 16 meetings of the committee were organised in which the progress of different departments in various aspects of IT was reviewed.

 He said that the MLAs Umesh Kumar ( independent), Shiv Arora (BJP), Pramod Nainwal (BJP), Brij Bhushan Gairola ( BJP), Rajendra Singh Bhandari (Congress) and Ravi Kumar ( Congress) are the members of the IT committee of the assembly.
