U’khand administration, Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib to work on promoting Sanskrit

The Sanskrit Education, Census and Programme Implementation secretary Deepak Kumar Gairola met Mahant Devendra Dass at Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib here on Saturday. In the meeting, the duo discussed ways to promote Sanskrit language and its conservation. It was decided that name plates of the Guru Ram Rai education mission will also be in Sanskrit language from now on. Similarly the names of all the doctors and departments of Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital will be in Sanskrit. Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy will help in the translation.

A Mantra Chikitsa Kendra will be set up in the Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital where research will be undertaken to ascertain the effect of Veda Mantra and Stotra such including Maha Mrityunjay Jap, Gayatri Mantra and Durgasaptshati on serious patients and their treatment.

The Darbar Sahib assured its help to the students of other institutions in research and other activities at its Sanskrit college. It was also decided that Uttarakhand Sanskrit University and Sanskrit Academy will sign a memorandum of understanding with Guru Ram Rai Education Trust for promotion and research in Sanskrit language. Gairola said that Darbar Sahib is an excellent centre of ancient language and Indian culture. He said that apart from working in the field of education and health sectors, Mahant Devendra Dass is working for conservation and promotion of Sanskrit language.

Mahant Devendra Dass recalled that a Sanskrit college was set up in the year 1931 by the Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib.

Gairola also presented the ‘ Meri Yojana’ book compiled by the Programme Implementation department to Mahant Devendra Dass on the occasion.
