U’khand administration becomes alert on Covid-19

CM presides over meeting of senior officers, directs initiation of campaign to administer booster dose of vaccine

In view of the recent rise in cases of Covid -19 in China and emergence of some cases of new sub variant Omicron BF.7 in the country, the Uttarakhand administration has also become alert. On Thursday chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high level meeting at the State secretariat to discuss the situation. In the meeting the CM directed the chief secretary SS Sandhu to conduct a regular review of the situation of Covid-19 in the State. He said that a campaign to administer booster doses of the vaccine should be undertaken to effectively control the pandemic. The CM directed the officers to start the camps for administration of booster dose from Friday itself.  He said that the Covid-19 control rooms in the districts should be made active again. In an important measure it was decided that the Health department would do genome sequencing of all the new cases of Covid 19 in the State. In the meeting the CM directed the officers to encourage people to get administered with the booster dose of the vaccine. He said that demand for the booster dose should be sent to the union government and that the availability of all necessary resources should be ensured.

 Participating in the meeting in a virtual mode the Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said 100 per cent population of the State has been vaccinated with the first and second dose of the vaccine. He directed the officers to focus on the booster dose now. The minister said that an extensive campaign would be undertaken for administration of booster dose in the State. The meeting was also attended by the additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, director general of police Ashok Kumar, secretaries Ranjit Sinha, R Rajesh Kumar, Vinod Kumar Suman and senior officers of the Health department.
