U’khand AAP questions govt on suicide of Agniveer aspirant

Expressing its anguish and anger on the recent death of a 20-year-old young man from Bageshwar who committed suicide after failing Agniveer recruitment test, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has questioned the Central and State government as how many more will be sacrificed from Uttarakhand in the name of Agniveer scheme.  In a Press Conference held in Dehradun on Wednesday, the State vice president of AAP, Uma Sisodia said that rules and parameters set under the Agniveer scheme are not appropriate for the youth which has become a reason of frustration for the Agniveer aspirants. Many have been against the Agniveer scheme since its introduction by the Central government considering how it holds no interest for the future of the youth but the BJP-led government neglected all criticism which is now leading to deaths of young men, added Sisodia.

The AAP leaders also talked about money laundering charges of about Rs 200 crore on a company owned by the wife of a close aide of former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.  The AAP Garhwal media in-charge Ravindra Singh Anand said that it is impossible to believe that the former CM did not know about money laundering despite being in the position of the CM for four and a half years. He said, “Is it possible that the Central Government already knew about the money laundering matter due to which, Rawat was abruptly removed from his CM position last year? If that is so, it is extremely condemnable. The BJP leaders often target other parties for corruption and black money charges but here, they are converting their own black money into white. The AAP will continue to raise its voice against such matters to bring them before the public.”
