In an interesting political development, the leader of opposition (LoP) in Uttarakhand assembly Pritam Singh met senior cabinet minister Harak Singh at his residence on Tuesday. The BJP MLA from Raipur Umesh Sharma ‘ Kau’ and senior Congress leader Brahmswarup Brahmchari were also present in the meeting which lasted for an hour. The meeting raised speculations that Harak Singh Rawat and Kau can leave BJP and join Congress party. The meeting comes in the backdrop of recent development when another senior cabinet minister Yashpal Arya left the BJP and joined Congress. In another related development the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that he has no knowledge that Harak Singh Rawat is interested in joining the Congress party. It is worth mentioning here that the former chief minister Harish Rawat had somewhat relaxed his earlier tough stand on blocking the entry of those who had revolted in March 2016 when he was the CM.
