The two-day UVB Udaan Fest–Chapter 1 will commence at Litchi Garden, Dehradun on Saturday to promote women entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance. Informing this here on Friday, the founder of Uttarakhand Virtual Bazaar (UVB), Richa Karanwal said that the festival would provide a common platform for women entrepreneurs, artisans, artists and startup founders from across Uttarakhand to showcase their products, innovations and skills and also directly connect with potential customers. “The themes such as women’s empowerment, self-reliance and Vocal for Local would be highlighted during the event,” she said.
Karanwal further said that some women-led brands from sectors ranging from handicrafts, handloom, organic products, fashion and lifestyle to art and culture would participate in the fest. Cultural performances and interactive sessions have also been planned to engage visitors, she added.
She urged people to participate in large numbers to lend a robust push to women’s entrepreneurship and support local products.
