The Kumbh Mela Authority has firmed up a complete road map to overcome the major problems that may arise during VIP programmes and emergency situations in the Har Ki Paudi area during large crowded events like Kumbh and Kanwad.
Sharing information, the Kumbh Mela Officer Sonika said that a team of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) had conducted a survey on Tuesday regarding the plan to construct a helipad on the roof of the proposed four-storey command and control centre (CCr)-2 building located at Rodi Belwala.
“The proposed helipad aims to strengthen disaster management in the town and provide faster emergency services.
Once the helipad is ready, it will facilitate immediate airlift of patients during medical emergencies. It will also greatly assist rescue operations in various areas. VIP events can also be easily organised in this area,” she added.
This initiative was being taken to equip the CCr-2 building with modern facilities, which would significantly increase the capacity for quick relief and rescue operations in Haridwar, a Kumbh Mela Authority officer said.
