Bodies of two youths- killed in a car accident that occurred on Friday night near Rin- Bichhul area along Pithoragarh–Thal road and remained trapped unnoticed in a deep gorge overnight-were pulled out on Saturday morning.
A member of the rescue team, engaged in the operation, said that they had swung into action soon after the family members of the missing youths had informed them on Saturday morning. He further said that the driver, Sunder Ram had lost control of the car following which it plunged about 200 meters deep into the gorge.
It is further learnt that the rescue team and the villagers left the spot after the driver told them that he was the lone occupant. But later, they returned and restarted the search operation. The two deceased have been identified as Sanjay Kumar (34) from Panda village and Hayat Singh (33) of Satshilling village.
