Dehradun mayor Saurabh Thapliyal and municipal commissioner Namami Bansal along with Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ inaugurated two parks in Nehru Colony under under the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD). One of the parks has been developed in memory of martyr major Chitresh Bisht, a resident of Nehru Colony.
An Amar Jawan memorial has been constructed in the park to pay tribute to him, Bansal said. She informed that the MCD also developed Rajiv park in Block -A of Nehru Colony.
The infrastructure fund supported the project, which includes a boundary wall with grills, swings for children, benches, a fountain, a food kiosk, a rain shelter and poles with decorative lights. The total cost of the two parks amounts to Rs 90 lakh, she added.
