State gears up for Covid-19 Vaccine dry run on Jan 8

The dry run to be undertaken in 10 hospitals of every district. Observers appointed to monitor campaign

A dry run for vaccination of Covid-19 would be done in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand on Friday (January 8). The vaccine dry run would be done in ten hospitals in every district. An online training programme was organised on Wednesday for the dry run of vaccine. The programme was attended by the district magistrates (DM), chief medical officers (CMO), immunisation officers and other officers of all the districts.

Addressing the workshop, the secretary health Amit Singh Negi said that the dry run would be in accordance with the guidelines of the government of India. He said that highest standards would be followed and the arrangements would be similar to that done during the elections. In the training different aspects of the vaccine dry run was given by the representatives of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The director general (DG) health services, Dr Amita Upreti has already appointed observers for the dry run. These observers would review the campaign and submit a detailed report to the officer concerned.
