Two more dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Two new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Monday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, announced that on Monday both individuals were hospitalised after testing positive for dengue. One patient was admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, while the other was treated at Graphic Era Hospital. This brings the total number of confirmed dengue cases (ELISA-positive) in the district to 76, with 44 cases reported in Dehradun and 32 cases from other districts or states.
Dr Sharma further informed that currently, there are eight patients hospitalised: six at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC). On Monday alone, 65 dengue samples were collected, increasing the cumulative total to 5,563 samples collected so far.
Additionally, on Monday, ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) and health department volunteers conducted 1,7938 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 54 houses tested positive for larvae. The health department has completed a total of 5,53163 house surveys, with 1,655 of those showing positive results. Further, on Monday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 1,02750 containers, of which 63 were found to contain larvae. To date, they have surveyed 3,411068 containers, resulting in 2,066 testing positive.
