Two mobile phone thieves arrested within six hours in Doiwala

Dehradun Police arrested two youths accused of snatching a mobile phone in the Doiwala area of the district within six hours of the crime being reported. The arrested accused have been identified as Sujit Kumar and Pradeep Kumar. The police arrested both the accused from Doiwala on Sunday. 

According to information provided by officials, the thefts occurred on Saturday when the victim reported that two boys pushed him and snatched his mobile phone before fleeing from the spot. After receiving the complaint, the police registered a case and formed a special team on the instructions of the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh. Using local intelligence and search efforts, the police arrested the accused Sujit Kumar and Pradeep Kumar from Khatta Road in the Doiwala area. The stolen mobile phone reportedly worth about Rs 12,000 was also recovered from their possession. 

Police said that during questioning, the two accused admitted that they are drug addicts and committed the crime to meet their drug-related expenses. The police also informed that accused Pradeep Kumar has a past criminal record and had earlier gone to jail in a theft case. Further legal proceedings are underway in the case, officials said.
