Two members of Pilla gang arrested with illegal weapons

Police arrested two members of Pilla gang on Saturday in the Patelnagar area and recovered two illegal country-made pistols and six live cartridges from their flat. Both the accused were wanted in a recent firing incident in Matawala Bagh and had been hiding, police said.
The accused have been identified as Udham Singh (19) from Haridwar, and Bhanu Goyal (22) from Roorkee. During questioning, both the accused admitted that they are members of the Pilla gang. Police said the duo was involved in the firing incident in Matawala Bagh, for which a case had already been registered at the Nagar Kotwali.
According to the Patelnagar Police, the arrests were made during routine checking when two young men were found behaving suspiciously. The police detained them and later recovered weapons from their flat.
Police said that both the accused have a criminal background. Several cases, including assault and illegal arms cases are already registered against them in Dehradun and Haridwar.
