Two-day Chintan Shivir to be organised soon : Rawat

The Education minister, Dhan Singh Rawat, said that a two-day Chintan Shivir will be organised during the last week of August to enhance higher education in the State. The aim of this initiative is to identify strategic reforms in higher education in line with NEP-2020 and to develop a concrete roadmap for the future. This will ensure that youth receive quality, employment-oriented, research-based and innovation-oriented higher education in the State’s institutions, allowing them to gain proficiency in forward-looking subjects.
Rawat emphasised that partnerships with respected educational and business institutions will be established during the Chintan Shivir for implementing various educational reform projects. Further, effective coordination with individuals connected to education, research and industry will be prioritised. Key topics for discussion will include the effective implementation of NEP-2020, the autonomy of educational institutions, reforming the affiliation system, strengthening educational structures and discussing policy reforms aimed at improving higher education, he said.
He further said that the Chintan Shivir will cover important themes such as digitalisation in higher education, inclusiveness, a multi-disciplinary approach, research, innovation and enhancing employment and placement opportunities.
He also said that notable educationists, researchers, educational entrepreneurs, vice chancellors from various universities, college principals and representatives from esteemed educational and industrial institutions will be participating in the Chintan Shivir. This state-level gathering will allow for brainstorming on various aspects in alignment with NEP-2020 to develop a concrete roadmap for the future. To ensure the successful organisation of the Chintan Shivir, Rawat has instructed departmental officers to complete all preparations on time.
