Seven people sustained serious injuries after a roadways bus and a factory bus on the Haldwani-Sitarganj road collided reportedly due to fog affecting visibility. The accident occurred on Sunday morning when both buses collided in which seven people sustained serious injuries and were under treatment till late evening, the officials said. They informed that the police and local people reached the spot and sent all the injured to Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani with the help of 108 ambulance service where the condition of all the injured is reported to be stable.
The police reached the spot after getting the information and inspected the spot to start an investigation. The officials stated that the accident occurred on the Haldwani-Sitarganj road, when the Roadways bus going from Haldwani towards Banbasa and a bus filled with employees from the SIIDCUL industrial estate collided due to fog near Danibangar turn on the road under the Chorgaliya police station area.
The traffic on the road was affected which was resumed after police removed both vehicles from the road using a crane. Some injured suffered serious injuries but everybody’s health was stable as per the doctors, the officials said. They added that the fog appears to be the cause of the accident so far but the police are interrogating the matter and will act further accordingly.
