Minister Arya reaps wheat with village women

The villagers of Kedarwala village in Vikasnagar area of Dehradun were surprised when they found the cabinet minister Rekha Arya in their farms on Wednesday. The minister was holding a sickle in her hand and reaped the wheat crop with the women working there. Arya was heading towards Dehradun from Vikasnagar on Wednesday when on seeing some women working in the fields she asked her entourage to make an unscheduled halt. The women were surprised when they found the minister adroitly reaping the crop. Apart from harvesting the minister also winnowed the crop in the thresher machine. She also held interaction with the rural women in the farming, purchase centres and the price they are getting. Arya listened to the problems faced by the farmers and also sought information about the ration from the PDS shops. She also presented gifts to the women farmers and said that the state government is standing firmly with the farmers and women. Arya said that it would be her endeavour to strengthen the rural women. The district programme officer of Dehradun, Akhilesh Mishra, Pradhan of Kedarwala Tabbasum Imran and others were present on the occasion.
