Tripta Thakur appointed Vice Chancellor of UTU

The Uttarakhand government has appointed Tripta Thakur as the new vice chancellor of the Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU). The governor lieutenant general ( retd) Gurmit Singh appointed her for a period of three years.
She currently holds the position of director general, National Power Training Institute (NPTI), apex body of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Thakur is a graduate in electrical engineering with a master’s degree in power electronics from IIT-Kanpur, and has a PhD from IIT-Delhi.
She earlier worked as head and professor, Electrical Engineering department at the National Institute of Technology, MANIT-Bhopal, India.
Thakur is a recipient of several awards and has a teaching and research experience of 33 years. She has nearly 100 publications to her credit.
