The famous fair, which takes place every three years, will be held this year on November 25 and 26 at Madbhagi Saud in Sem-Mukhem . According to officials, preparations for organising this fair are in full swing. This year’s fair will feature traditional cultural tableaux, folk dances, bhajans, kirtans and various religious rituals. Around 100,000 people from the region are expected to attend.

Speaking about the event, BJP Coordinator of the economic cell and spokesperson for the State BJP, Rajeshwar Painuli emphasised that the Sem Nagraja Fair is not only a symbol of religious faith but also a remarkable showcase of the region’s culture, folk traditions and social unity. He said that the fair has become a significant celebration and a source of devotion for the local people, drawing participants from all over Uttarakhand, including Tehri.

Painuli also expressed concerns regarding the poor condition of the road from Dobra Chanti Bridge to Motana and has urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to improve all roads leading to the fair area. Additionally, he highlighted the necessity of enhancing health facilities in light of the large number of locals and pilgrims travelling from outside the area. Addressing the ongoing protests for better health services at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Chaund, Pratapnagar, he called on the Health department to provide specialist doctors, repair the X-ray machine, deploy technicians and ensure adequate emergency resources are available.
