A Transgender Awareness Programme and Felicitation Ceremony 2025 was organised by Setu Foundation here on Monday, aiming to promote dignity, rights and inclusivity for the transgender community.
The Dharampur MLA and senior BJP leader, Vinod Chamoli said that the transgender community is an essential part of society and must be ensured equal opportunities and respect. “Such initiatives help create awareness and narrow the gap between society and the marginalised groups,” he added.
The programme was chaired by the former State minister, Ravindra Singh Anand. “No society can progress without equality and justice for one and all. Inclusive growth must prioritise those communities that have always remained outside the mainstream,” he commented.
Some members of the transgender community were felicitated for their contributions to society on the occasion.
