Tourism minister extends greetings as Hemkund Sahib reopens for pilgrims

The State’s Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Hemkund Sahib’s reopening on Sunday. He said that the shrine opened following the Char Dham Yatra, with the ceremony led by the Panj Pyare and about 5,000 devotees witnessed the event.
The minister said that Sikh devotees eagerly await the reopening of Hemkund Sahib every year and show great enthusiasm for the pilgrimage. He stated that the bridge at Govindghat was damaged two months ago but has been rebuilt with the cooperation of the government and administration. The completion of the new bridge will ensure an uninterrupted journey for pilgrims this season, the minister added.
Maharaj also appreciated the efforts of the agencies involved in completing the reconstruction work before the pilgrimage began. He further said that the government remains committed to ensuring the safety, comfort and smooth travel experience of every pilgrim. He urged all visitors to follow safety guidelines during the journey.
