Thunderstorms & rain likely in seven districts today

Parts of the State are likely to witness a change in the weather on Saturday. The State Meteorological Centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail/gusty winds (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Almora districts today. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail/squall (50-60 kmph gusting upto 70 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places of Dehradun, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning with hail/ squall (50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) are also likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 35 degrees Celsius and 20.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35 degrees Celsius and 21.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.6 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.4 degrees Celsius and 13.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
