Thunderstorms & intense spells of rain likely in parts of State today

Parts of the State, especially in the mountains are likely to experience inclement weather today. The State Meteorological Centre has issued yellow warning regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts while thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain/gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in the plain districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many

places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital and

Champawat districts and at a few places in the remaining districts of the State on Sunday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum

temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Saturday were 36.6 degrees Celsius and 18.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37.7 degrees Celsius and 23.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 27.2 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.5 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
